My Second Eldest
My Second Eldest
By Stephen Clover
Stephen junior was born with a hernia. At 18months he developed meningitis. As a result of this he became known as a right-hemiplegic. Simply put Stephen was completely paralysed down his right side.
He was in nappies for a lot longer than any of the other children. We never thought that Stephen would walk. At one of our hospital visit’s a foreigner asked if he could pray for Stephen.
As I was desperate but mainly because no-one else was in the waiting room, I said yes. Of course nothing happened. So I was not disappointed. Stephen didn’t understand either. So the two of us just carried on with our day.
I also want to point out that at this time I was not walking with the Lord the way I am today. A few days later something weird but wonderful happened.
Stephen jnr. had crawled up the stairs in our two storey flat. On the way down he slipped. Rolled down the stairs and landed with a thud at the bottom.
We went to see what was going on. By this time Stephen had stood up and was walking.
